Rocky Falls lichens, moss, and more

Rocky Falls is in the National Scenic Riverway and is a secret little nook of a place. We had a fabulous time exploring, catching small animals, and sliding down the water falls. The Ozark Trail winds through this area.
The rocky glade surrounding the falls has many types of mosses, lichens, and rocks. If i were an animal i would probably live here. i love moss.

Ozark Camp

We spent Labor Day camping with family on the Jacks Fork River. We had such fun. It is always hard to get back into the city groove again. But it makes the whole adventure that much more exciting!

Spanish Fiesta!

We celebrated the beginning of another school year with our friends in Spanish class. We had a hand-made pinata, delicious Cuban meat and guava pastries, and fun.

Thankful

In the past I put going to the Doctor off because we didn't have insurance. Or because we had Medicaid and there were less good Doctors to choose from. And currently because i just didn't feel i had the time to search for a new Doctor and go to an appointment.
But Justin reminded me that we have insurance to use and to be thankful we do.

So i made an appointment and was able to address several medical problems. I was even able to pick up my predisonole at the dispensary located in the office!

I am so thankful that we have medicine and Doctors available so easily.

August 13 Birthday Boy

We are all blessed by this little boy. He is very loved...I am so thankful God allowed this surprise in our lives.
Tullaia still tries to pick him up. She got away with it when he was 5 months old. Now he kicks her.
In the hospital with Jasper.
We took Avery to Happy Joe's for his birthday. We gave him this choochoo afterward. He was very pleased.

Avery cried shortly after this was taken because the seagull flew in and stole his croissant.

The kids and I drove up to Michigan to see my Gramma and brother. April and Opal joined us and my Mom met us there. My Dad also drove up later. We spent time in Grand Haven, Kalamazoo, Grand Rapids, and South Haven. We even got to drive into the country to my Aunt and Uncles place for Gramma's birthday. Jasper said it looked like a "Nature Place".
The beach was incredibly fun. The waves were big. The sun was shiny. We barely fought at all.

In the Woods

These are pictures from our day trip with Justin's Dad to his property. It was a beautiful drive down there and the most perfect weather you don't expect in August. We found snakes, large juicy grubs, bones, bright blue skinks, amazing rocks, outhouse spiders, cypress knobs...fun fun.

Powder Valley

Last week we picked up friends and spent the morning exploring Powder Valley.

Mr. Plumpy
Two-year old

August 1 was Jasper's birthday!
Jasper's dinner menu included plain quiche, broccoli with homemade cheese sauce, corn on the cob and carrot cake.
After dinner we dressed up and took him down to the Loop. He got to choose a dessert location and chose Fro Yo.
We have had a wonderful 5 years with a funny and thoughtful boy!
